A Special Welcome to Our Web Site

Welcome to the CGI Raleigh-Greensboro Website. As the minister of record, I'd like to take this time to introduce myself and convey to you the manner in which we conduct our services. Our emphasis is concerned with providing an opportunity to fellowship with like-minded people and addressing the needs of the local members in the North Carolina area.
The Minister
It was in 1963 that the doctrinal messages of the Sabbath - keeping Church Movement made a strong impact on me. It was very different from what I had been taught as a child growing up, and the more I studied I became convinced that God wanted me to live a different life from the one I was living, especially respecting the keeping of all of the commandments and the holy days. Violation of the fourth commandment stood out sharply in my heart and mind. I was baptized and became a member of the World Wide Church of God in 1967, and served as a deacon from 1970 to 1986. In 1986, I was ordained as an elder. I served in that capacity in the World Wide Church of God until 1996. In 1997 I became asssociated with The Church of God International. In addition to serving the needs of the Raleigh-Greensboro area, my responsibilities also include speaking engagements in other parts of the world, such as Canada, Australia, and Jamaica. I am also the Overseas Ministries Coordinator for the church.
The Church
I have often referred to the CGI as the "best kept secret around". Our doctrine is Bible-based, stable and balanced and we strive to adhere to it's mandates, but the church operates on the premise that people are free and individual, and must decide for themselves how diligently they will strive to live a life that is pleasing to God. The minister and the brethren are here to help and encourage, but not to force or pressure anyone to do anything they are not compelled by God to do. We have an open door policy and visitors are welcome. No prior approval or invitation is necessary.
One thing that stands out in our services is the music. We believe that worship in music is vital to the life of a Christian. It is a very important part of our worship of God. Singing is part of the people's response to God's teaching. Singing is important not only because of the joy it promotes, but also because the Bible admonishes us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. I will go into detail about our format at a later time.
Thank you for visiting our site.

Minister
